Vintage Hand-Blown Cut Crystal Wine Goblets — Set of 6, Wheel-Cut Floral with Seed Bubbles

Six hand-blown wine goblets in clear crystal, wheel-cut with a flower whose broad petals are filled with fine parallel lines, with small leaves and a thin trailing vine carried around a deep rounded bowl. Vertical optic panels run underneath the cutting. A slim drawn stem with a small collar above a plain polished foot.

Hold one up to a window. There are seed bubbles caught right through the thickness of the glass — trapped air from the blowing, and the clearest evidence there is that these were made by hand rather than pressed in a mould. No two of the six are exactly the same height, which is the other tell.

Condition, plainly and first: one of the six has a chip on the edge of its foot, about the size of a grain of rice, and it is photographed close up. A foot chip is not a drinking flaw — it sits face down on the table, it never touches your mouth, and the foot edge is simply where stemware chips. The other five read clean. No rim chips, no cracks, no cloudiness.

Unmarked, as nearly all cut stemware of this kind is. No maker is claimed and no decade either — six unmarked glasses give nothing to date from, and I would rather leave the field empty than invent one.
