Four clear glass mugs by Schott of Mainz, West Germany — the borosilicate line sold as Jenaer Glas. Thin-walled straight cylinders with a small applied handle, no decoration at all. Plain on purpose, and the glass is thin enough to nearly vanish in the hand.

All are marked in the base: SCHOTT / MAINZ in a square-and-circle, with JENA·GLAS underneath. It reads mirrored when you look down through the glass. Marked German glass of this age is a good deal less common than unmarked.

Borosilicate — heatproof. Boiling water goes straight in. Coffee, tea, cider, toddies.
