Hand-Painted Ceramic Nesting Relish Tray Set of 3 | Olive Green & Gold Majolica-Style Rectangular Dishes

Vintage Hand-Painted Ceramic Nesting Relish Tray Set of 3 | Olive Green & Gold Majolica-Style Rectangular Dishes | Unmarked

There's something wonderfully old-world about a nesting set built for a table full of people — this trio of rectangular relish trays in graduated sizes is exactly that kind of piece. Each dish is finished with a deep olive-green glazed interior and a cream exterior hand-decorated with a raised botanical band — wheat sprigs, tulip-like buds, and trailing olive branches — bordered by a gold rope-twist rim. The style reads as Italian-inspired majolica, the kind of ceramic work meant to bring warmth and texture to a table rather than sit quietly in the background.

Practically, this set is a natural for serving crudités, olives, bread, or a run of condiments down the center of a table — or stack them as a graduated trio on a sideboard for a bit of old-world charm even when they're not in use. Each tray also has a drilled hole at the base, so these were designed with the option to hang as wall pockets or planters as well as serve at the table.

Maker note: No maker's mark is visible on these pieces. The hand-painted botanical detailing and rope-twist trim suggest an Italian-style majolica influence, but I'm listing this honestly as unattributed rather than guessing at a specific manufacturer.
