Mikasa's "Snowflake" pattern in heavy pressed crystal — frosted shell fans alternating with deep-cut snowflakes, scalloped rims on both tiers, and a slim gold-tone column rising to an ornate scrolled handle.
The pattern is moulded right through the glass rather than printed on it, so it catches the light from every angle and it will never wear off. Both plates lift free of the post, so it stores flat and goes back together without tools.
Two tiers earn their keep past December: cookies and petit fours through the holidays, olives and cheese straws the rest of the year, or jewelry and watches on a dresser.
Mikasa catalogued this as Snowflake, 2-Tier Server 10", code SA 960/344. The piece carries no remaining label, so the attribution is by mould.
