Silver Plate Rose Garland Punch Bowl | EP Nickel Silver, Japan | Mid-Century Pedestal Centerpiece

Vintage Silver Plate Rose Garland Punch Bowl | EP Nickel Silver, Japan | Mid-Century Pedestal Centerpiece

There's a particular kind of romance in a piece made for gathering people together — and this footed punch bowl carries that spirit in every curve. A ring of hand-chased roses and trailing acanthus leaves wraps the scalloped rim, catching light differently from every angle, while the deep, softly domed bowl rests on a substantial pedestal base built to anchor a table.

This is the kind of piece that doesn't need punch to earn its place. Fill it with lemons for a kitchen island, float candles down the center of a holiday table, or let it stand alone on a sideboard as sculpture. It's been doing exactly that kind of quiet work in homes for the better part of a century.

Marked on the underside: E.P. Nickel Silver, Japan — mid-century electroplate, not sterling, which is part of why pieces like this are such a lovely way to bring old-world formality into a home without old-world pricing.
