This is a vintage mid-20th-century bookplate reproduction print of the famous 1856 Nathaniel Currier lithograph, "Clipper Ship Dreadnought Off Tuskar Light." Originally sourced from an oversized commemorative art folio (such as the 1952 Crown Publishers collection), this page has been neatly extracted and historically adhered to a sturdy cardstock backing for display.
The artwork beautifully depicts the legendary semi-clipper ship Dreadnought under full sail during her record-breaking 1854 Atlantic crossing from New York to Liverpool, identifiable by the iconic red cross painted on her fore-topsail.
Artist/Publisher: Original by Duncan McFarlane & Charles Parsons; published by N. Currier.
Format: Vintage book page mounted on cardstock.
