Description
This charming, minimalist wooden figurine depicts a traditional Norse Viking longship (drakkar), crafted in a style reminiscent of mid-century Scandinavian folk art. The body features an elegantly curved hull carved from light-stained wood, seamlessly contrasted by a striking black silhouette frame that forms the stylized dragon-head bow and stern.
The most prominent feature is its curved sail, constructed from thin, flexible wood veneers arranged in a alternating light and dark brown striped pattern. This highly tactile piece sits entirely flush on a flat base without manufacturer markings, reflecting the classic anonymous craftsmanship common among independent woodshops or holiday souvenir creators from the circa 1970s to 1980s era. Measuring a compact 5" x 2.5" x 6" and weighing a feather-light 3 ounces, this versatile item is perfect for desktop display or as a unique holiday tree ornament.
