This exceptional pair of large vintage ceremonial offering vessels or long-handled dippers originates from the Igorot and Ifugao peoples of the Cordillera region in the northern Philippines. Masterfully hand-carved from a single piece of dense hardwood, each piece showcases striking ethnographic artistry.
The elongated handles feature detailed, stacked anthropomorphic figures representing ancestral spirits or deities. The base of each ladle transitions into a hollowed-out bowl sculpted into a highly expressive tribal head with distinct facial features. Standing at over 22 inches tall, this matching pair possesses a powerful vertical presence and functions beautifully as a standalone sculpture or an eclectic plant holder.
