This is a beautiful vintage Japanese ceramic bowl featuring a classic blue and white underglaze design. The exterior is decorated with large, detailed peony blossoms set against a fine speckled background, bordered by a delicate traditional scroll pattern around the rim.
The underside of the foot ring features a crisp, circular blue underglaze maker's mark. The stamp displays the kanji/hanzi characters "三船" (Mifune), which translates to "Three Ships," positioned directly above a stylized graphic of three sailboats sailing on ocean waves. This specific mark is highly collectible and identifies the piece as authentic vintage Japanese tableware.
