These plates are commonly referred to as "Geisha Girl" porcelain, a type of inexpensive Japanese export ware popular in the early 20th century. The scene typically includes Japanese ladies in kimonos surrounded by gardens, temples, or lakes. While often labeled as hand-painted, many pieces from this era used stenciled outlines filled in with color washes. The plates measure 6.5” inches in diameter. Pre-Owned.
